Scissor Hounds is run by myself Shirley Hastings. With over 30 years
experience in owning both working and domestic dogs it’s fair to say
I consider myself a dog person through and through.
Coming from an agricultural background I have working knowledge covering
a large cross-section of animals, from the very large to the very small. I
apply this experience to the canine charges I care for whether that be in the
grooming salon or out in the hills and woods on a dog walk.
For your pet to be truly healthy, inside and out, they need to be provided with
appropriate mental and physical stimulation as well spending time in nature
with their own kind. I seek to provide a dog walking service where your best
friend is returned home not just physically tired but having enjoyed some
mental stimulation through play.
I am enhanced Disclosure Scotland checked, a City & Guilds trained groomer
and canine first aid certified. I am constantly undertaking further accredited
qualifications and seminars to develop my knowledge.
The Scissor Hounds vehicle is fitted with professionally installed, secure dog
cages and proper ventilation to ensure your pet travels in comfort. A fully
equipped pet first aid kit is carried on-board.
I offer GPS tracked walks and daily updates so you know exactly where your
pet has been on their walk and for how long. Most importantly, however, your
pet will be treated with the love and care they deserve.
Scissor Hounds will, with permission, hold the following information about you
and your dog:
• Your name, telephone number and address
• Your dog’s name, breed and age
• Any medical conditions/health problems or allergies relevant to your dog
• Your dog’s temperament
